Wedding Bells, Scooting and Swimming

The last couple weeks have been jam packed full of fun things. I took Ethan swimming for the first time in a real pool. The time in Oregon was a hot tub and he loved it. I wasn't sure how he was going to react to a real pool though. My wonderful sister, Heather, called me up one day and asked if I wanted to go swimming. I figured I hadn't seen the sun in a few years so why not? And Ethan loves water. So we went to the Logan pool where they have a huge baby pool that has warmer water in it and is really shallow for the little ones. We got in the pool and Ethan would not stop moving. Heather had this little floating device that I put Ethan in that he just loved. We stayed there for a couple hours until our little ones couldn't handle the excitement anymore. It was a lot of fun and I did get the sun I was craving. Almost two weeks later, I'm still peeling from my burn.
Taking a break from swimming.

This is Heather's little guy, Carson. What a stud!

He now does push ups. We're not exactly sure how he learned it but he does them all the time. He's going to be a buff little guy!

I went to the bathroom and this is what I came back to. He had rolled under his bed and was not happy about it as you can tell.

Attempting to crawl

How could you not love this face?

Anyway, last week, a few exciting things happened. On Tuesday, Ethan decided to move all on his own. He does the army crawl but uses both arms at the same time. I have a video of it because it just makes me laugh every time he does it. He is so close to crawling that I know its going to just happen one day, like the army crawl, or as Brian calls it "the worm crawl".

Later Tuesday night, Heidi went through the temple for the first time. It was really neat to have our whole family there (minus a few spouses). She went through the Salt Lake Temple, which was really awesome because it was a live session. Then after the temple, we decided to celebrate and go to the Cheesecake Factory. It was really good but by the time we were done, it was 11 o'clock at night and we still had a two hour drive home. It was a late night but totally worth it to see my little Chunky Monkey go through the temple. I'm so happy for her and excited for all the huge steps she is taking in her life right now.

Thursday, Heidi (aka Chunky Monkey), got hitched to her wonderful fiance Casey Bybee. I love it because now she is Heidi Bybee. Its so fun to say! Anywho, it was a very awesome wedding. They got married in the Draper temple Thursday morning, where we had all nine of our siblings and spouses there for the first time ever. The sealer said he had never seen anything close to that number, so we were pretty excited. Then we went to their luncheon at Braza Grill in Clearfield. Its very similar to Rodizio Grill but the food was tastier in my opinion. Then we headed to the reception which was in the backyard of a lady's house who my mom works with. It turned out really cute and everyone had a really good time. We are so happy for them both and we're so excited to have Casey now officially part of our family. He fits right in and we're happy they found each other. We love you both!

Our little family!

He loved his aunt Emily all day but he was just super tired by this time.

And Ethan loves his cousin Clint. They play so well together and just love to chill!

Our 4th of July Weekend

Okay so this post is long overdue but life has been crazy lately. So for the 4th of July, we hung out with my family on the 3rd at Laura's. All the kids went swimming in an awesome water blow-up toy they have. Then we had a barbecue with everyone. It was a lot of fun. We then headed up to Utah State to see the fireworks. We had great seats but unfortunately I was feeling kind of sick so Brian and I left about ten minutes into the fireworks. Surprisingly, Ethan didn't get scared when the fireworks went off. He loved looking at them but started to fall asleep so that was another reason why we decided to leave.

Ethan loves to play with his cousins!

Our cute little family at the fireworks.

Ethan didn't like this hat at all!

I just love the look on his face here.

Saturday, we headed down to Myton. Good ol' Myton. Brian's grandparents live in Myton, which is right by Roosevelt. We go down every year for a family reunion. Its always a lot of fun because Brian's uncle made a park for us to enjoy. It has a pond and swing and slide. And there's also a sand pit for the kids to play in. I can't wait for Ethan to be big enough to enjoy it next year! We had a good time this year. That night we headed up to Park City to spend the night there. As we were checking into our hotel the fireworks started. There were people everywhere outside the hotel because the fireworks were literally right across the street, which was fun! Then Sunday, we met up with Brad and Missy and went to Park City's Main Street because I love the buildings. They are old fashioned but renovated so they are nice. They had the Park Silly Sunday Market that day too so we just walked through to see the cool stuff that people were selling. We decided there's not a whole lot to do in Park City when you can't spend money so we just came home after lunch. It was nice to get away from the real world for a little while at least.

This last week, we have been pretty busy. Brian is always busy with scouts, something that doesn't need to be said I guess. They went boating last week to work on their water skiing merit badge. What a hard calling he has! Then we both played in the softball game on Thursday. I am not a huge fan of softball because every time I play, I always get hurt. I've broken my nose twice playing and I jacked up my knee trying to get a ball once. No good experiences so I usually don't play but our ward would've had to forfeit if I didn't so I HAD to. It was actually a lot of fun and I am still sore from running the bases. I actually hit the ball every time I was up to bat, to every one's surprise.

Saturday, we had a family party for Brian's mom's birthday. We met her extended family down in Clearfield at a park and had lunch and some games. It was fun but hot! Ethan was sweating the whole time and I tried to keep him in the shade, which helped. We then went to my brother's house to hang out. We were leaving his house at about 10:30 that night when Brian realized he had lost his phone. So we checked Jason's house, my mom's (we went there for dinner), and went back to the park. We were on our way back to Jason's when he called saying he found it. Luckily! Brian and his luck with cellphones! Anyway, we finally got home at one in the morning but with a phone so that was good. I'm awful at taking pictures so I stole the ones above from my sister Emily. Thanks Em!

My Baby's 8 Months Old!

I can't believe it. Today, Ethan is 8 months old. I can't believe how fast time flies. I just love this little guy. He is so much fun and has so much personality. He's still not crawling but I'm not pushing it by any means. We put him on his stomach and he will move around a little but no crawling, just scooting or turning in circles. He is so funny because he just wants to move and play so bad but when I put him down to do that, he gets mad at me for putting him down. I don't know what to do with this kid. Anyway, Ethan is doing really good. He still hasn't broken a tooth but its gotta be soon. He chews on his fingers like there is no tomorrow. And he's been pulling on his ears a lot so I'm wondering if he might have an ear infection. He's been acting just fine so I'm not sure, maybe he just discovered his ears and likes to play with them.
Yesterday, Ethan had just woken up from his nap so I changed his THIRD poopy diaper for the day (before noon) and I went to throw it out. When I got back to his room, Ethan had rolled partly under his bed and was just talking to himself. I scared him by saying his name because he couldn't see me, being under the bed and all, then pulled the crib skirt up and smiled so big. I got a picture but unfortunately after the big smile. He's been so funny lately with the camera. He won't smile really anymore. I can get him to sometimes but not very often. Anyway, here's some pictures of our handsome little guy.

He loves the big bath now. It took him a few times but he splashes like a mad man now. So cute!

Here he is under his bed.

Here he is late last night. It was way past his bed time and he was so tired. He's been holding his own bottle great lately and he just chills, crossing his feet. I love this kid!

Scout Camp and More!

Last week Brian went to scout camp with his boys. They went up to Camp Bartlett in Idaho and had a blast playing in the water, staying up till two in the morning and just hanging out during the day while the boys got their merit badges. Brian actually had to come home Wednesday to work because he just is so busy right now, which is a huge blessing. Then he worked some Thursday and drove straight back up to camp until he came home Saturday afternoon. It was a long week for both of us but Brian had a lot of fun and got to know the boys a lot better.

While Brian was at camp, I had a very happy and ornery baby. Ethan would be so happy for like an hour then start crying and getting mad at anything I'd do no matter if I was holding him or feeding him, whatever. Then I'd try to lay him down for a nap, and he would cry bloody murder. It was a blast! So I decided to spend some time down at my mom's. We had Heidi's bridal shower, which was really fun, on Wednesday so I went down then and stayed till Friday. It was actually a nice change of scenery and I had a really good time. I went to lunch with my friend Kristin and saw Traci's mom twice (Yes I am stalking your mom, Traci). Then Friday I went with Heidi to look at her bridal pictures. She's so gorgeous and I can't wait for her to get married. Its going to be a good day and so much fun! Only a few weeks left!

Friday night I came home and Ethan decided he wanted to be a little monster. He cried from 6:30 until I put him down for bed at 9. He did take a little break from crying to laugh pretty hysterically and for no reason besides me looking at him. Oh and Ethan has been able to say dada for a while now and would a lot. But the day Brian left, he starting saying mama and won't say dada anymore. I try but he won't. Its so funny! I got some videos from my phone of these wonderful events so sorry if they aren't very good quality.
