Lunch and the Park With My Ladies

Today Traci, Missy and I decided to go to lunch for all three of our birthdays. We meant to go for each individual birthday but life gets crazy and it never happened. So we went today for mine back in July, Missy's the 8th of September and Traci's, who's is coming up next Thursday. It was so fun to get together and have lunch. Gotta love Firehouse!! It was especially tasty today for some reason too. Then Ethan and I decided to visit Brian at work. It was good to have a break in the day.

Yesterday was a fun day too. I met a few ladies in my ward to have a group visit teaching session at the park. It was a lot of fun to see them and to let all the kidos play. Ethan is not usually a fan of grass so I thought for sure he wouldn't like the wood chips that surrounded the playground. Well, I put him down in it because he was driving me crazy whining in his stroller. He wasn't so sure at first but after a few minutes, all of it was in his mouth. It didn't bother him too much and he started crawling all of the place, in the wood chips.

He's a busy little guy these days. He is so close to standing all by himself too. He walks along everything he can then will let go for a second. Once he realizes he's let go, he will usually fall down or grab on to something real fast. He's just growing up so quickly. I can't believe my baby will be 1 in a month and a half. Crazy! He's talking like a madman, just knowing that we totally understand everything thing that comes out his mouth. And he is a total boy. He laughs anytime we sneeze, burp or cough. Kind of weird but he thinks it's hilarious when we sneeze. I'm not sure why. He's my little man and I love him with all my heart!!!

Boringness

Our lives as of late are pretty boring. We haven't been doing anything out of the ordinary so I've been kind of putting off writing a post. But I need to do it because my goal is to write on here at least once a week as a journal entry. So here it goes.

Brian is working more with Scentinel now. They are getting busy with all the accounts he's drumming up ;) Good work babe! And QPC has slowed way down so that makes it easier for him to focus more on Scentinel. He's also been really busy with Scouts lately. Last week he had to do flags twice, Monday and Friday, still having mutual Tuesday. Then this week they had their monthly camp out and still had mutual Tuesday. Is that normal? Brian tells me it is in the "rules" of scouting that they have to take a camp out once a month and that our stake still likes to do mutual on top of anything else they have planned for scouts. It doesn't make sense to me but oh well.

I haven't been doing much lately. Just hanging with my baby, sisters and doing a little massage on the side. I have started doing massage again and I totally forgot how much fun it can be. I know that sounds kind of weird but I love to be able to find knots on a person's back and work it out. I like to do it because I know how much better it feels (after a day or two of being sore) after it gets worked on. So if anyone is interested in a massage, I charge $40 an hour and I'll come to you. I don't have a place to do it so I just go to people's homes.

Now to Ethan. This kid is so much fun. He has finally got the concept of me chasing him and how he is supposed to run away, not to me. Its so cute! He is just getting so big so fast. He is walking around anything he can. He even found that he can push our chairs and use them as walkers (seen below). He still refuses to walk by holding our fingers though. He gets really mad when we try so I just figure when he's ready, he'll do it.

I went to my mom's Friday night to spend some time with her. Since Brian was going to be gone, I figured why not? So anyway, Heidi and Casey came over to hang out and Tara stopped by for a little while after running some errands for her husband. We decided to give Ethan and Clint a
bath together. Clint is getting so big now too. He's almost 14 months old but is about the same size as Ethan, because he was supposed to be born on Ethan's birthday. They are the cutest together. Such good friends whenever they play and also in the bath as well :)
The Handsome Duo before their bath.

Ethan is so happy to be with Clint, always!

Using the stool to walk around.

This is Ethan's way of hanging out. He just chills on our step into the sunroom and chews on toys. Sometimes he will swing his legs and kick the step. It just makes me laugh.

And this is what happens if I let Ethan's fingernails get too long. He scratches himself literally from ear to eye! Don't worry, it was gone by the next morning.

And here is a video of how Ethan goes down a step. I love it! Not good when trying to go down more than one step, I'm afraid.

So Funny!

Today has been a very busy, fun day. I watched a girl in my ward's little baby boy. He is five months old and so cute! He is so tiny compared to Ethan. Ethan was kind of jealous when I would hold Hunter, it was pretty funny. But they became fast friends. The only problem was that Ethan and Hunter were on totally opposite schedules. When I put Ethan down for a nap, Hunter would wake up. But they wanted to eat at the same times. Crazy day! Then Missy stopped by and Abbi stayed to play for a while. Hunter's dad came and got him, then Missy left. Abbi was here for a few hours and Ethan was loving it! He LOVES Abbi! So they were pretty cute. By the time Abbi left, Ethan was exhausted from a full day of fun. I put him in the bath and he was loving that too. Watch the video and you'll see. I've never seen Ethan laugh that hard before, ever! It was so funny I was trying not to laugh, so I'm sorry if you can hear me in the background. I almost dropped my phone in the water because I was laughing so hard.
So I'm pretty tired after a long day, but the laughter and smiles and happy screams were totally worth it! I love those kids!

*I would also like to remember those who died eight years ago today at the WTCs, the Pentagon and on Flight 93. What a terrible thing to happen to so many innocent people. And also, to acknowledge the firefighters and police officers who ran back in when everyone else was running out. God Bless America!

All About Our Boy

So I know I do a lot of posts about Ethan, but once again, this is my journal and he's all that I do all day long. So here it goes. Ethan has been such a happy guy lately. The last few days, he's taken good naps, is really happy when he is awake, and is very playful with us. I make monster noises to chase after him, but he gets so excited he crawls right to me with a huge grin on his face. I love it! He is so much fun to be home with. Huge accomplishment: a tooth finally broke through!!! YAY! I can't tell you how happy that makes me. All last week Ethan was so ornery and had a stuffy nose. I thought it was because a tooth on the bottom was coming through but it never did. So I just thought he might have been sick. Low and behold, this morning, he had a tooth. All the orneriness was for good reason. He broke his eye tooth on the top left side. He's our little vampire! Brian called him "our little Edward". I love it! Anyway, now Ethan is such a happy little guy just ready to play all day. I thought it was kind of weird, though, to have his first tooth be on top and a side tooth. Isn't that strange? I swear every baby I know has their first tooth come on the bottom front. My child is unique I guess. Must take after his dad :) I took a few pictures of our handsome little vampire and thought I'd share. He's just so cute!!
Here's Ethan after crying so hard one day because he hit his head on our fireplace. He gets all read and splotchy, just like his mama. Its a Mathison thing :)

But he got happy real fast after he saw the flash of the camera a few times.

Just lovin' his daddy!

I love this face and his pajamas. He's so cute in his space jammies!

And here's our little vampire. I know, I'm a mean mom by prying his mouth open like this for a picture, but I needed proof to show he finally does have a tooth! He's been teething off and on for the past 4 months so its huge that he actually has one now.
