Workouts and scary costumes!

Just so you know, this dvd is awesome! I have only done it a couple times but man, I'm sore. Its great. I needed to find something that I could do at home that would actually produce results for me. We'll see how it goes, but so far, so good. Its fantastic!

Anywho, on to our weekend. We didn't do a whole lot this weekend. Friday night, we watched Transformers 2. Not a fan. It was long and had a few inappropriate parts. And the fighting seemed to go on forever! Anyway, we went to my mom's Saturday night to hang out. Sunday we had Emily's Halloween party, which was so fun. We didn't dress up but we were the odd ones out. Everyone dressed up and it was fun to see the different costumes. When we got there, Ethan freaked out. He grabbed onto me and wouldn't let go. He was so scared of everyone's costumes. It was kind of funny. We dressed him up for a couple minutes, which he didn't like. We got a quick photo then he was right out of his costume. The party was a lot of fun and hopefully will become a family tradition!
This was his face most of the party.

Riley, Laura, Steve, Jacob, and McKay is the bee.

Don't ask. I have no idea why I was making that face. Check out Brian's though :)

Hello Fall!!

I absolutely love this time of year! I love the colors around outside. I love being able to cuddle up in a blanket and drink hot cider or chocolate. I love the smells. And I love that my favorite holidays are all bunched close together. I am so excited for Halloween this year because we're dressing Ethan up and going Trick-or-Treating. Only to a few neighbors houses but it'll still be fun. I borrowed this costume from my neighbor across the street and its huge on him! But he looks so darn cute I couldn't resist. When I put it on him, I started laughing so hard I was crying. I could barely keep the camera from shaking to take a picture. But he looks so cute and he loved it!!!
Don't you just want to eat him up? Love it!!! And I also love the activities that go on this time of year. We went to the Haunted Forest again this year (last year's experience). Our friends, the Norton's, came and stayed Friday night at our house and went to the Forest with us. It was so much fun and I love those guys. I wish they lived closer because they are so much fun! I can't get enough! Anyway, Saturday night, I went with all my sisters (minus Amy) and my mom to the Paradise corn maze for a girls' night out. It was so much fun! Creepy scary!
Friday morning, I was getting some stuff done for my calling in our extra bedroom and Ethan just loves to look out the window because the window sill is down far enough he can use it to stand and look outside. So he was playing by the window, as he's done a million times before, and decided to get down fast. He bonked his forehead just right and it swelled up huge!! Luckily, he's just fine and it went back down pretty fast. But he has had a black eye since and it is almost gone now. It made me physically ill when I saw this though.
I hate it when he gets hurt. This is his first real bad one.

Anyway, this week has been a long one for sure. Ethan has been pretty ornery because he's getting more teeth. And he's not taking very good naps so that just adds to the orneriness. Brian has been working A LOT at Scentinel which is great but hard at the same time. But he's such a hard, devoted worker that I can't help but admire his devotion. I have the best husband ever, by the way. He hasn't done anything big to bring this on but I just can't help but marvel at the man he is. Amazing father, wonderful husband and is always so positive. My goal is to be more like him. Love you babe!

Family Photos!!!!

I have to start this blog out by thanking Jen Korth. She is Brian's cousin who took our pictures and she is absolutely amazing! She was so patient when Ethan wouldn't smile and when Brian would just sit there, not knowing what else to do. Smile duh! Anyway, she is an amazing photographer and was so fun to have take our pictures. She even got great shots of Ethan, who was extremely ornery that day. She was so friendly that Ethan went right to her, without hesitating. For those of you who know my child, you know this is big. Still wouldn't smile for her, but gave a few cute smirks. Thanks Jen, for catching the perfect moments for us!

Now, I'm going to write about our weekend. It was crazy packed full of fun stuff. We first got our pictures taken Friday afternoon at Wheeler Farm. After that, we headed to my mom's so Ethan could take a nap. We then went to Emily's house for Carter's 3rd birthday party, which was a blast! Saturday, I massaged 6 people while Brian just hung out with our boy. I love those days, daddy/son days. We hung out with Jason and Debbie Saturday night, after a tasty dinner by Debbie. Thanks again for a wonderful meal, Debbie! Sunday, we went to church and fought Ethan the whole time. Seriously, what's the point in going when you stay out in the hall the whole time and don't get to hear any part of any lesson? Ahhh! After church, we headed to Laura's to have some yummy scones! I love scones! Anything yummy and warm this time of year is my fave. What a weekend. So fun and busy. Anyway, here are some pictures taken by the wonderful Jen Korth. Enjoy!
The before...

And after! Poor baby face planted. We laughed pretty hard. He didn't even cry, we're not that mean!

Thank you Jen! You are the best!

Our Conference Weekend

Was fantastic. I love General Conference. I absolutely love being able to listen to our prophet and the apostles. Such great men, all of them. I really liked Saturday morning's talks. A few were about showing love for your family and God. It was great and just what I needed to hear. I love it! Anyway, also while watching conference, we decided to do a few things to finish our sun room. Our fireplace has been 90% done for a long time, so Brian finally put up the mantel. Yes folks, he made it himself from scrap pieces of wood given to us by Laura and Steve. Thanks guys, it worked great! He's not completely done but I was too excited I had to blog about it. Brian also did all the touch up paint on our ceilings while I cleaned all the windows inside and out. They desperately needed it. But then it rained today and ruined all the work on the outside. Oh well, at least I can say they were clean for a little bit. And the ceilings look 100% better. I don't think a lot of people noticed but we did. Now that it is done, it looks so great! I'm so excited to get our house done. We've only lived here a year, honestly! But we're doing one room at a time so its not so overwhelming and I think its going to work for us. We have most of the sun room done now and I'm so glad!
Before (a long time before!)

After, isn't it pretty?

Ethan got another tooth today. He now has four teeth, three of which he's gotten this week. He is getting closer and closer to walking. He doesn't get mad anymore when we hold his hands and walk with him. He actually gets excited to. And he pushes the bar stool all over the kitchen. He has so much fun doing it. Only bad thing is that he gets close to the stair sometimes but still hasn't fallen, which I am grateful for.

Today, we went over to Brian's parents house to have dinner after the last session of conference. We always have a great time when we hang out over there. All the kids have so much fun together and Ethan just jumps right in. Anyway, all in all our weekend was very relaxing/productive/spiritual. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Our Little Man

So seriously, Ethan is looking more like a little man every day. He isn't looking so much like a baby anymore and it makes me sad. But I love his clothes that make him look like such a cute little boy. He now has two more teeth, his other fang and one of his front bottom teeth. He is also waving goodbye as of today. Brian came home to change for a meeting with work and as he was leaving, I told Ethan dad had to go bye bye. So he started to wave at him! It was so dang cute. I have been trying to get him to wave for a very long time and then he just decided to do it today. I love this kid. He picks up on a lot more than I thought. He can also dance. He started doing this a few days ago but now anytime music comes on, he stops whatever it is he's doing and starts to bounce. It is so cute I had to get it on camera. Oh, and he also sings as he's dancing.

And he thinks it is hilarious when we sneeze, or fake sneeze. SO funny! I got a few of his smiles on camera to show you.

Isn't he a stud?
