As most of you know, Ethan has been a very colicy baby. He would cry for hours and hours for no apparent reason and did for a long time. The last month he's been a little better but for the most part, still pretty ornery. But this last week has been a turning point for him. He got his shots Monday and was a little sensitive, like his dad. But the next day and every day so far this week, he has been such a happy baby. So I'm hoping and praying that he has changed for good. People kept telling me, "Oh just wait till his two months. Two months and he'll be better." Then when he wasn't they would say, "Three months. Wait till he's three months and it'll be so much better." Well, I kept waiting and waiting but now I know that four months is the magic number for me. I think he's just going to be a more stubborn child anyway but he has been such a good baby this week I hope that's how its going to be from now on.
And this week we tried rice. Not a good experience for anyone involved. Ethan really didn't like it as you will be able to tell from the pictures below. I would put it in his mouth and he would spit it right back out. I laughed so hard because of the faces he kept pulling. It was so funny. Anyway, we tried again last night and it was no good. So I guess we just keep trying and hope that one day he'll catch on that you're supposed to swallow the rice, not spit it at mom.
I have a couple videos on this post. They are of him "eating" rice and him pulling out his binky. He has been doing this a lot lately where he will have his binky in his mouth and be perfectly content then he'll pull it out, look at it and start to cry. Its so funny, I just wish he knew how to put it back in his mouth.
So that is me in the background laughing then trying not to laugh so it sounds like I'm crying. Ignore me, just watch his face. So funny! I don't know why the picture quality on this one is so bad. Sorry about that.

haha. your trying NOT to laugh made me laugh. That video was funny.
Ethan is a doll!
Harper did the same thing with rice cereal at first. Adding breast milk or formula might give it the taste he will tolerate--if ya aren't already doing that:)
Thats awesome about him not crying as much anymore. That had to have been rough. Getting used to a newborn is hard enough but YAY for 4 being the magic number!
Well it is a good thing he and I had the heart to heart talk, he's finally listening to his big sister!! I'm so happy that he has been better for you. After watching the last video I have come to this conclusion: Ethan has Your height, Brian's looks and (sorry Brian) his brains. Come on silly boy if you like your bink keep it in!! That just seems like a Brian thing to do.
He is so CUTE!!! that last video is funny with his Binky! He is such a sweet heart, I love his face in the pictures that he is eating...SO CUTE!!!
hahahah I love when he pulls it out and then he's like "oh crap!" haha He is sooo sweet. Shelley NEVER liked rice cereal or any of them....maybe he'll just love everything else!
