So Here's My Problem
I can't get Ethan to drink milk out of a sippy cup. I've tried almost every kind they make, every top, warm and cold. He takes a sip and will throw the cup as soon as he knows its milk. He drinks water and juice from the cups just fine. Its just milk. So I've been giving him milk out of a bottle a couple times a day so he gets what he needs. What can I do to get him off the bottle?? Any of you mothers have fresh ideas, please, I am all ears! Or eyes ;)

You just have to take the bottle away and eventually he will give in! I'm having the same problem with Jack! I feel your pain!
that's hard! i don't know what you should do. we're trying to stop bottles too around here, it doesn't always happen though. charly likes to drink her milk from a big girl cup. i have to hold it or else she'll spill it all over of course, but she's getting the idea! good luck!
I would also like answers. Abbi only drinks it from bottles too.
Yeah, you just have to take it away. Give him the OJ with added calcium until he figures it out. I would just skip the sippy stage altogether. You can do a cup with a straw...that may make it fun...or add a little bit of chocolate, and lessen it each time...
With Brooklyn I just took it away and after a couple of days she would drink it out of a sippy cup. Good luck!!
Kristy, I feel your pain! Hannah is the same too. I think that when it comes to it, I am just going to have to throw them away, so I won't give in and give it to her. They will eventually get over it.....I agree with trying the cup with a lid and straw and skipping the sippy, just because it was just as bad to take the sippy away from Connor. It was like starting all over again. Good luck and let me know.
I work at a day care and we have this problem alot of times, some kids just don't like sippy cups at first it feels different for them, but I would take the bottle away altogether because he'll learn now to use it if it's not there. But honestly I'm not expert Im still trying to learn to feed my baby
I may be crazy but I love bottle time with Shelley so I don't care how long it lasts haha. she doesn't carry it around and it doesn't hurt her teeth so I don't care
Thank you!!! Kristy I think you are the only one that reads my blog any more hahaha you are the BEST!!!!! And Hunter was way cute and its always hard when they get there first hair cut but he did do good he really did! and Ethan will get it he just will do it on his own time!!!
Naslyn loved drinking water and juice from a straw cup and never did like sippy cups. However I could not get her to drink milk from a cup and at 15 months she stopped drinking it from the bottle, too. Turns out she just doesn't like milk. She's just barely decided that choc milk is ok. But I'm sure Ethan will do it when he's ready!
I didn't have too hard of a time switching Gavin to a sippy cup and getting rid of the bottle, but I had the same problem where he just wouldn't drink the milk. So I started trying chocolate milk and that worked for a bit but the key for us was STRAWBERRY milk! He loves it and that's one of the only ways I've been able to get him to drink milk. Good luck!
